Your Role: Senior Cloud-/Big Data Architect

Ultra Tendency aims to hire a senior success-driven Senior Cloud-/ Big Data Architect architect with a diverse technical background to support Ultra Tendency in planting our flag in the American Midwest. The newly formed US team is taking on the strategic challenge of establishing Ultra Tendency’s footprint in the US. Are you a cloud-architect with broad technical knowledge in Big Data Analytics and/or IoT? Are you familiar with methodologies like TOGAF, ITIL v4, Scrum, and UML? Are you a success-driven self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset? This is your role!


As role is a hybrid between the delivery of customer projects and pre-sales activities to win (new) projects in the Midwest, please find a description of each sector below.


YOUR MISSION

DESCRIPTION OF DELIVERY TASKS

  • First-person on the ground (together with our Senior Territory Account Manager)
  • Be the technical face to our clients (Technical Project Lead)
  • Work with diverse customer stakeholders to identify and define clear requirements and design applications according to their needs.
  • Review, optimize and extend existing cloud/ Big Data architectures to adopt to new requirements.
  • Design client's cloud / Big Data architecture and cloud-based single applications from scratch or extend/redesign existing architectures.
  • Document and communicate the architecture to different customer stakeholders.
  • Support the overall implementation process.
  • Support our clients’ and development teams in transitioning capabilities ranging from architecture to operations.
  • Fine-tune and optimize cloud environments to process millions of records every day.
  • Satisfy the teams’ high standards of design, code quality, and test automation.
  • Lead the development team, ensure high-quality standards, and best practices.
  • Responsible for project budget & burndown.
  • Supports Ultra Tendency’s Senior Territory Account Manager selling professional services to architect, build and operate data-driven applications and holistic data analytics platforms to corporations in the Midwest
  • Provides in-depth expertise for technologies and methodologies associated with Ultra Tendency services
  • Technologies: e.g. AWS / Azure / GCP Big Data Analytics & IoT Stack, Apache/Eclipse Open-Source ecosystem, Cloudera, Databricks, Confluent
  • Methodologies: e.g. TOGAF, Scrum, SAFe, LeSS, Kanban, ITIL v4, BPMN, UML
  • Plays a key role in winning new customers through consultative selling activities
  • Presents and discusses data engineering principles and best practices in detail
  • Presents and executes holistic requirement engineering (BPMN, UML)
  • Reviews existing customer architectures and recommend best practices
  • Understands and explains related technical features of products
  • Creates detailed design and implementation specifications for complex products/applications/solutions
  • Supports multiple tasks along the overall sales process from the first contact until closure, which includes multi-product (and generally multi-vendor) software and services components
  • Supports RFXs from a technical perspective.

Job requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an Architect or Pre-Sales Architect in the area of cloud / Big Data Analytics / IoT focus
  • Excellent technical and methodological knowledge and experience
  • Customer-oriented communication skills
  • Knowledge-thirsty – Capability to understand and present new tech components and methodologies fast
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully within virtual teams and challenging time constraints.
  • Position requires travel
  • MUST be a team player
